What We Do
WTGC members stay active year-round through projects, outreach, and education. Here’s a sample of our ongoing initiatives:
-
Birmingham Park – We maintain and beautify this beloved green space, recently enhanced with native plantings, benches, and a Blue Star Memorial.
-
Scholarships & Awards – We support local students studying environmental sciences and related fields.
-
Workshops & Programs – Monthly meetings feature speakers and hands-on activities on topics like native plants, floral design, and sustainable gardening.
-
Community Giving – From flower donations at the Ewing Library to seasonal decorations at Drumthwacket and Morven Museum, we give back creatively.
-
Flower Shows – Every few years we host a Standard Flower Show to share our talents with the broader community.
-
Random Acts of Beauty – We recognize and encourage well-tended gardens across the neighborhood.
About the WTGC
The West Trenton Garden Club (WTGC), founded over 70 years ago, is a vibrant, welcoming group of garden enthusiasts based in Ewing, New Jersey. Our mission is to foster community spirit, inspire an appreciation of nature, support local beautification, and share gardening know-how—always with a healthy dose of fun. We welcome gardeners of all experience levels—whether you tend a backyard plot, a few pots on a balcony, or simply enjoy learning about nature and design.
